ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
To the Contrary is launching the first film festival highlighting the rights and struggles of women, girls and diverse communities where winners will have their programming broadcast nationally on PBS.

For nearly a quarter of a century, PBS”s To the Contrary has been dedicated to highlighting the diverse perspectives of women on issues impacting women, children and diverse communities. As we approach our 25th anniversary, TTC is offering aspiring documentarians the chance to get their exceptional programs seen on our PBS program. To the Contrary airs on 91% of PBS stations nationwide, on Canadian television and Voice of America internationally.

About Women and Girls: A To the Contrary Film Festival. Accepting entries from women AND men. We are requesting that all of the entries be available for judging online. All documentaries should have been completed in 2015 and NOT ever aired on broadcast or cable television. All should be the first effort completed by an aspiring documentarian. All submissions should be at least 25 minutes and no longer than 60 minutes.

Student Entry Student entry –

A documentary produced by undergraduate or graduate student(s) focusing on issues about girls, women or diverse communities both in the United States or globally.All submissions should be at least 25 minutes and no longer than 60 minutes.
